Many people find attending new appointments stressful for all sorts of reasons, so let me describe how we try to make the whole procedure as comfortable as possible:
There are no steps at all from the accessible car park, to the waiting area to the consultation room.
The waiting room we use is G10 and is away from the main surgery, it is spacious and quiet, there are rarely more than four or five people in it. You do not need to check in at reception at all. Just follow the purple floor arrows to room G10, and I will call you through.
There are three toilets on the ground floor, including a fully accessible one, so there is always a loo available.
The consultation room is quiet and spacious, and we welcome a family member or friend to join you during the war wax removal.
The appointment times are longer than is usually necessary, so we aren’t in a rush to get you in and out, and I rarely run late (very rarely in fact).
You will always see the same person, which is me, Jason.
I have worked in primary healthcare as a professional for thirty years.
